What a crazy ride you are on... again....Hi Katie!!!
What a crazy ride you are on... again. :)
To answer your question... we were advised to only take girls in our home. The foster child will be sharing a room with my daughter who is almost 4. In our state (I don't know if it's the same everywhere)a foster child cannot share with the opposite sex after the age of 5. They were afraid of us having a long term placement and then having a five year old sharing a room with a foster childi of the opposite sex. Does that make sense? I absolutely did not want to only take girls, but I don't know how to get around this. I did tell them that we would love to take boys. Our SW told us that we could only take boys if they were short term, but that they never know how long a placement would be. That's how we came to the conclusion of only girls... which sucks. Any suggestions? You can email me... themommytribune@gmail.com.

KellyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
