Tornados and other Nonsense...

I am so sick of this CRAP ASS weather! I mean seriously...what is going on? My dog is a FREAK. And I don't mean he's a freak like other dogs when it comes to storms...He's a FREAK! This is the same dog that is afraid of his food and water bowl and we have to feed on a paper plate...IN THE SAME spot every night or he cries and whines and refuses to eat and drink. So...you can imagine how he reacts when it comes to thunderstorms and bad weather! O-M-G!!!

So after MANY nights of this hideous weather in the past month, I finally called the vet. We already have Xanax for the freak, but 2mg. didn't touch this 46lb. dog and get all the crazies out as it should have. Poor Shaggy...Nooooooooooooooo. Poor Shaggy the FIRST or SECOND or maybe even THIRD storm of the spring...but by storm number 20...Get a damn hold of yourself DOG! Anyhow. The vet also gave us a sedative to add to the Xanax, which I did the night before last at 2am. Well, it seemed to kick in right around the time we all had to get up. UGHHH! Last night I was proactive and gave him both about 9:30ish, before I went to bed and NOTHING...He STILL went ballistic when it started thundering and lightning. At 2am, I again gave him another Xanax since the others had NO seemingly effect. Again...NOTHING! WTH? He continued to cry and pace and whine and wake the entire house up again and again!

I am tired and crabby and so are my kids... and where is Seth?? Oh... out of town of course. Do you hear the crabbiness in my words?

I never thought I would say this but bring on summer...enough of this shit!

Easter Weekend 2011 and Lots of Pics

We had such a great Easter weekend! The weather was perfect and we did so many FUN family things.

On Friday morning we went to Cheekwood Botanical Gardens. It was BEAUTIFUL!

We recently got a family membership and Lydia is going to camp there this summer. It is such a fun spot and this summer they will be having live music and food and drinks on Friday nights. I bet you will find this family there quite often!

After we got home from the gardens and a few naps were taken we dyed Easter eggs!

After we dyed eggs we were off again to my sister's house to eat cheese pizza (Good Friday Food) and play with the cousins! I didn't take the camera though. :(

On Saturday morning we went to the zoo for an egg hunt (along with the rest of the city of Nashville)...














Finally, on Easter Morning we went to mass and then had the family over for lunch. By Sunday evening we were exhausted!

Lydia Turns 5!

I can't believe that you are 5 years old LydiBig! Where in the world has the time gone. It seems just yesterday you arrived on our porch exactly 5 MONTHS old! Life has been nothing short of AMAZING since that day. Our love for you grows with each inch. I know it sounds so cliche' and every Mom thinks "this" of their own, but Lydia Kathryn, YOU ARE UNIQUE. You are a constant SMILE! You are a BURST of energy! You are ALWAYS happy and make everyone around you HAPPY. Others are drawn to you! You are the ONE that people dream of and wish they could be. And I mean that literally. Other parents say to us all the time.."She is ALWAYS happy and smiling. I wish I was like that!" or... "Does she belong to you? She makes my day every morning with the biggest smile and hug." I am savoring the sweet months I have left with you before I turn you over to the world of Kindergarten! I know it will pass in a blink and I will wish all of my life i had these times back. You are FUN and make our dreams come true every morning - as you JUMP into our bed...even if it is often times only 5am. Your birthday was a perfect day. We went to Jump Zone and lunch with Amy, Anna and Zachy and dinner with all of your favorite peeps! Grandma and Grandpa, ALL of the Handshys! Gary, Kyle and Chuck! :)
