We are ready to foster. I have called our agency - TWICE. I have emailed them and sent 2 texts. STILL, we have not gotten the information about when we need to update training OR have an appointment to update our
homestudy. I am going to call again this afternoon.
Ughh. I just love our agency, but I am not going to BEG them to be a foster parent for them. There are a
bizzlion kids in foster care waiting and needing homes. Come On!
I know the feeling! I'm in the process of changing agencies as I renew my license, partly because my old agency made me mad when they told me that they basically had to have a meeting to determine whether or not they wanted me back. WHATEVER! I guess that's what happens when you advocate too strongly for your kids. Good luck with everything!!! Just keep reminding yourselves that the kids are MOST DEFINITELY worth the hassle and frustration of the foster care system. Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteWow, it's really a shame they're taking so long to get back to you. You're right, they're so many children who need really good homes; you really think they'd have a more efficient process.
ReplyDeleteIt's so wonderful you want to foster, and I hope it starts to move more quickly.
Happy ICLW!
I hate waiting and can totally relate. My husband and I are currently waiting for our home study to get our adoption journey rolling! Good luck with everything!!!

Paperwork and red tape is sooooo much fun!
ReplyDeleteBeing a foster parent is so rewarding. It's so great you're going to be helping so many kids that need good parents around.
Don't let the foster care system make you give up!! I don't think you will, but there is a huge need for better parents in the system, and I think you definitely qualify. I so wish my cousins had a family like yours!
